Zimbabwe national team,The Warriors have been hit by a lack of numbers in training as they prepare for the second leg 2018 CHAN qualifier against the Brave Warriors of Namibia.

It has not been smooth sailing for head coach Sunday Chidzambwa and his team as a number of key players have been pulling out of camp regularly.

According to Zimbabwe’s football portal Radio Rihama, only nine players made it to the country’s Tuesday 18 July morning training in Harare with other players expected in the camp on Wednesday 19 July morning.

The nine who reported into the camp include Leeroy Mavhunga who returned yesterday from his trial stint with Portugal giants Benfica.

Others who were available include Daniel Dauda,Fransesco Zekumbawire,Liberty Chakoroma,Raphael Mabumire,Jimmy Tigere and Jimmy Dzingai.

They were joined by two goalkeepers Herbert Rusawo and Takaba Mawaya with the coach hinting that he has dropped some three players.

Despite the low numbers and time available before the clash, the coach has remained optimistic that his charges will beat their  opponent.

“When we went to Namibia we trained for a day, but now we have got four days from tomorrow (today) to have full sessions which is better than in the first leg.

“I think the most important thing here is to get the right attitude, we need to score an early goal, that is key at the same time managing how not to concede. So it’s quite a task, but in football there are no easy matches.

“If we want to progress to the next round, we have to beat Namibia,” said Chidzambwa.

The second leg match is set to be played at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday and the Warriors will be looking for a win after crashing to a suprise 0-1defeat in the first leg in Windhoek.
