Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) incumbent Philip Chiyangwa said his association is considering not to honor their CHAN 2016 berth.
Rwanda shares the boarder with embattled Burundi where more than 400 people have been killed and 220 000 fled to neighboring countries.Burundi has been rocked with tumor since April when President Nkurunziza took over the office in his third term.
Chiyangwa told Chronicles that ZIFA is monitoring the situation to ensure that the lives of the players and fans will not be at risk.
However,The Rwanda Ministry of Sports and Culture have assured fans,journalists and players that they will be tight security during the tournament.
“We take security very seriously and we’ll make sure everyone is safe during the tournament”

Zimbabwe were drawn in Group D alongside Southern African rivals Zambia,Mali and reigning CECAFA champions Uganda.
CHAN 2016 take center stage from January 16-February 7 in Rwanda.
