Vipers SC coach Richard Wasswa has stated he is not worried about his side performance aganist Volcan Club de Moroni in the CAF Condfederarions Cup preliminary round following a 0-0 result which puts his side qualification to next round in a difficult situation.
Wasswa insisted on seeing the positive despite his side’s draw with minnows.
“We are disappointed with the result but i I think my players gave everything in the game. Tactically, we controlled the encounter for long spells though our concentration in the final third wasn’t good”
Vipers attack line led by youthful Tony Odur failed to break a defensive Volcan club de Moroni but coach Wasswa remains optimistic that the team can still get a result away in Comoros.
“There was real signs of frustration in the dressing room and I felt for the players, it’s indeed a very big disappointment failing to get a positive result out of the game but all is not lost we still have a second leg to look forward to.”
Both teams will meet again in the return leg scheduled on February 18, 2017 at the artificial Stade de Moroni in the Comoros capital city at 15:00hrs.
The winner of the clash will either Platinum Stars or Uniao do Songo of Mozambique in the first round but the South Africans hold a one goal advantage going into the return leg following yesterday’s 1-0 win over the Mozambicans.
