England superstar Wayne Rooney, widely regarded as one of the world’s best footballers, is set to play at the National Stadium in Dar-es -Salaam on July 13.
The 31-year-old Everton forward will be in action when the Toffees take on SportPesa Super Cup winners Gor Mahia in a friendly on Thursday.
Everton FC website has confirmed that the football star will be part of squad in a trip to celebrate club-record patnership with Kenyan gaming giants SportPesa.
“I’m looking forward to it – it should be a good trip,” he told evertontv. “It’ll be nice and hopefully I’ll get on the pitch and get some game-time,”said Rooney.
Ronney joined Everton last week and he hopes to use the trip to spend time with other players.
“It’s good when you go away with the team. It’s good to be around the hotel with the players, spend more time with them and get to know them more.
“I’ve never been to Tanzania before, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
Everton will become the first ever English Premier League team to play in Tanzania.
