Thomas Partey grabbed hat-trick with Richmond Boakye scoring a brace as Ghana crushed Congo 5-1 in the Russia World Cup qualifying group E reverse tie at Stade Municipal Kintele Tuesday.

Boakye, 24, kick started the party in the 23rd minute – drilling home a poorly cleared ball in the box for the opener which followed a sustained onslaught from the hosts.

The Red Star Belgrade forward would complete his brace with five minutes left to play from an almost similar situation for the fifth and final goal of the game.

But before then, red hot Partey followed the Boakye’s opener almost immediately with a well taken strike in the 26th minute.

The Altetico Madrid defensive midfielder grabbed a brace – pacing on the right wing before unleashing a venomous shot from an impossible angle for the third before half time.

His hat-trick came in the 69th minute for the fourth goal.

The first leg ended 1-1 in Kumasi on Saturday.

The win revives the Black Stars’ hopes of qualifying for the next year’s global showpiece as they move third in the group standings on five points.

Uganda, who take on Egypt later today top the group on seven points while Congo are rock bottom with a single point.
