Mathare United Women’s team manager Veronica Achieng admits that they don’t know much about their league opponents Nakuru West Queens whom they play at Camp Toyoyo on Sunday.
The latter were promoted to the top flight this season for the first time whilst Mathare have featured in the league at least from 2017 according to data by Hans Schöggl, author for Rec.Sports.
Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF).
“We have never played Nakuru West Queens hence not certain of their playing strategy.
Nonetheless, we focus on our game and hope for the best. Anything can happen in football,”
That not withstanding, Mathare will be keen to start on a high as they successfully fended off relegation threats last season.
The club finished in 12th place on 22 points, just eight above Nyuki Starlets who got the drop and ten more than Spedag Ladies who suffered the same fate.
