Zambia National team head coach Wesson Nyirenda took a dig at the referee after his side’s 2 all draw with South Africa. Nyirenda felt the match official made a number of questionable decisions.
” I think the referees decisions where very dubious . He tried to intimidate our boys but the boys stood firm,” Nyirenda said after the match
Nyirenda believes his team has now gained the confidence it requires to put the match to bed come this weekend when they host Bafana Bafana in the return leg.
” It has given us the confidence to go and finish it off in Zambia But we will not take them for granted because if we can score two goals here they can also score in Zambia,”
” I would like to thank the Zambian supporters here in South Africa. They chanted for us even when we were two nil down. This is the Zambia that we know, They die a little for their own,” he added
Zambia came from two nil down to snatch a draw with goals from Power Dynamos Striker Martin Phiri and Sensational Zanaco enterprising winger Augustine Mulenga. The second leg will take place on Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to decide who will make it to the Kenya 2018 CHAN tournament.
