With the AFCON 2021 group stages in full swing, let’s look at some of the favourites for this year’s tournaments and their odds, for the latest odds as the game progresses, Betway online soccer betting has all the live odds, scores and game info you need.
Current holders Algeria are clear favourites, and with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Youcef Belaili in the attack. The Greens come with essentially the same side that won the 2019 competition. The team is playing well together and more experienced than the rest of the teams in the competition. They are a strong team with a good chance of retaining their title at 5/1.
The 2019 finalists Senegal will also hope to go one further in this year’s edition, they have had a strong qualifying campaign, are the top-ranked African side and with Sadio Mane upfront they are always going to be a threat to any team, they have their odds of winning the tournament are 4/1. Seven-time champions Egypt that has Sadio Mane’s club partner and arguably the most informed player at the moment in Mo Salah, are 7/1 to win it for an eight-time.
Although Ghana lost their opening game to Morocco, they still have a depth of talent in their team and can make it out of their group, their odds are 11/1. Morocco is a strong team and contender, their odds are 10/1. Nigeria is always in the mix and although they had a poor qualifying campaign, and some backroom drama the team can’t be counted out with their odds at 9/1.
Host Cameroon are up there too, they had an unconvincing opening win against Burkina Faso, but with home ground advantage they should not be taken lightly with odds of 9/1. Mali is a team to watch as they have had some strong performances leading up to the games even though they have not been able to play their home games in their own country. The last team to look out for is Ivory Coast, although they don’t have the big names of the past, they like Wilfred Zaha in the team and they should not be counted out with odds of 8/1 of making it into the semi-final.
These odds will change as the tournament progresses, make sure to visit Betway online and see live odds and soccer betting on your favourite team.
