The frosty relationship between Uganda Cranes midfielder William Luwagga and national team coach Micho Sredojevic has ensued immediately after Cranes elimination from 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Vipers SC player has warned that he will not play for the Uganda national team if Multin Sredojevic is still the national team coach.
According to the player who now turns for Portuguese side Rio Ave,the outspoken coach cannot be able to handle his players, something that created tensions among the playing unit.
Micho is said to have accused Kizito for not being active in every first five minutes in all the games that he has fielded him something that has annoyed the player.
“Micho can’t handle players with my style because he doesn’t like it. National team is not my home and Uganda has a lot of good players,” said Luwagga in an interview with Ugandan newspaper Daily Monitor.
The 24 year old midfield maestro also indicated that he will never step low to apologise to the coach who his motive is to kill his talent.
“He will choose others and play but apologising to someone who is killing my talent and career is like betraying my soul. I even regret why I came (for Afcon),” he added.
However, Kizito has not ruled a chance of making a comeback to the national team indicating that it is only after Micho’s tenure that he will wear the Cranes jersey.
Cases of Uganda Cranes players ‘throwing national team jersey’ are not new.In 2011 David Obua declared that he would never play for the national team unless former Fufa President Mulindwa and former Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson were out of the set-up.Obua was later suspended from the national team after his off-field theatrics.
FUFA are expected issue a statement about Kizito matter something that may see the midfielder finding himself in no man’s land.
