Asante Kotoko have a reason to smile with goodies coming their way following the club’s first qualification to the group stage of a CAF Confederations Cup in 11 years.
Ghana’s ministry of sports on Tuesday published a release signed by the Minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah confirming the Porcupine Warriors will get $150 000 approximately 750,750GH as reward for taking Ghana’s name this far into the 2018 competition and to help in preparations.
The above sum adds to $275 000 Asante Kotoko got from CAF making a total sum of $425,000 approximately 2,127,125.00GH for the club to prepare for at least their 6 games in the group stage of the CAF confederation cup.
Kotoko will face Zambia duo Zesco,Nkana and Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal on home and away basis in the competition.
On Sunday defender,Agyameng Badu told reporters that, this generation of footballers want to write their names in the History books of the club. Minister Kwame’s gesture is certainly a huge motivation for the boys of coach Charles Akonnor ahead of their first game away to Al Hilal in Sudan.
