Azam FC striker Yahaya Mohammed has warned upcoming Ghanaian footballers from pursuing a professional stint in the Vodacom Tanzanian premier league.
The former Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko talisman who joined the Tanzanian league giants in November 2016, credits the league for economic viability , fame, pomp and color instead of helping players to develop.
“It is economically good to play in Tanzania, but as a young player aiming to play football to a higher stage, from ages between 19 to 25, per what I have seen and experienced here, I would not advise you to start from here with a Tanzanian club.”
“For me my age has advanced and sooner or later I might be out of the profession, so this moment every move is commercially driven because I will not give any scanty amount a chance to slip by. But as an upcoming professional player, you must put your career development first.”
The 29 year old was speaking to Fox FM in Kumasi, Ghana.
