Tanzania champions Yanga SC has lined up two international friendly matches against Zambian giants Zesco United and Malawi’s Silver Strikers FC in preparations for new 2015/16 league kick-off.
The “Jangwani” boys will face Silver Strikers on Thursday, August 13 before taking on the Ndola based Zesco United on Sunday 16, at Sokoine Memorial Stadium in Mbeya City, as was confirmed by Yanga’s Secretary General Jonas Tiboroha.
Yanga will also use the two build up matches to tie up loose ends before league curtain raiser “Community Shield” match against Kageme Cup-2015 champions Azam FC on August 12th at the National Stadium.
Azam knocked out Yanga in the quarters of the CECAFA Kagame cup via penalties, before going on to win it 2-0 against Kenya’s Gor Mahia.
Zesco tops Zambian Super League with 40 points from 18 matches while Silver Strikers are 8th on Malawian Premier League table with 20 points from 14 fixtures.
