This huge loss, their third in the group coming after a 1-1 draw with the same team leaves them deeply rooted at the bottom of the group
The Tanzanians started the match poorly and were punished as early as the 7th minute when Daniel Amoah scored from an Enock Atta Adjei corner.
The scoreline could have been 2-0 by the 10th minute but Deo Munishi saved a Malik penalty.
As the Tanzanians were still struggling to come back to the game, things went from bad to worse when Mohammed Abbas doubled the hosts lead in the 22nd minute for a 2-0 lead.
The Dar giants did not wither off from the two goal defeciency but piled more pressure with the resultant outcome a penalty by Simon Msuva in the 25th minute after new signing Obrey Chirwa was fouled in the box .
The home side however took control of the game after that penalty and Mohammed Abbas scored his second to make the scoreline 3-1.
The results means Yanga are technically out of contention for a semi final slot after picking only a point in four matches considering that only two matches are remaining at home to MO Bejaia and away at TP Mazembe.
Medeama moves temporarily to the second spot albeit the clash between TP Mazembe against MO Bejaia in Lubumbashi today
