The Zambia U-20 National team have finally received their bonuses for winning the U-20 Africa Youth Championship.
The players have each received $7,000, that is according to FAZ Communications & Public Relations Manager Desmond Katongo.
Katongo told state owned television station ZNBC, that FAZ have met and cleared all the outstanding arrears owed to the players.
“I am pleased to announce to the general public that the Football Association of Zambia has finally settled all the outstanding arrears owed to the U-20 players, with each player receiving on average the sum of $7,000,” Katongo said
There was believed to be a stand-off between the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and the Junior Chipolopolo when the players were reported to have boycotted training ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup to be staged in South Korea starting on 20 May 2017.
Now that the players have finally been paid, Zambian fans will breathe a sigh of relief as the lads journey to Spain for their final preparations.
Zambia open their campaign on May 21 at the Jeju World Cup Stadium against Portugal.
