The most successful team in the history of the COSAFA U20 championships, Zambia have a chance of making it 11 titles as they continue their dominance in the region when South Africa’s Western Province hosts the tournament between the 7th and 16th of december.
The Young Chipolopolo departed for South Africa around 7:00 hours this morning. The Young Chipolopolo will use this tournament as a preparation for when they host the rest of the Continent next year.
Zambia are in group B alongside their neighbors Zimbabwe and Malawi. Group A comprises of the hosts and defending champions South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana.
Sudan, Seychelles and Mauritius are in group C. The final Group has Mozambique, Comoros Islands and Rwanda from the Eastern Africa who will participate as guests in place of Madagascar.
The squad that have traveled include some super League stars like the lethal duo of Patson Daka Jnr and Fashion Sakala Jnr. Other seasoned players include Boyd Mkandwire , shemmy Mayembe and Harrison Musonda Chisala.
