Zamalek dropped two precious points in their race for the Egyptian League title after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by El-Entag El-Harby in a delayed game on Thursday.
Moroccan striker Khalid Boutaib scored for Zamalek just after break while defender Moaz El-Hennawi converted a penalty five minutes later to level the score.
Zamalek are now third in the league table with 67 points, seven points behind leaders Ahly who played two matches more.
Zamalek started the game in style with Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim, Hamid Ahadad and Ibrahim Hassan squandering three goal-scoring opportunities in the first six minutes.
After this good start, Zamalek lost their rhythm, giving the chance to El-Entag players to get into the game but without creating much threat.
Zamalek intensified their attacks in the last five minutes of the first half but they failed to score in many occasions.
Moroccan international striker was introduced in the second half and he needed only 45 seconds to score when he met a nice cross from Kahraba to score easily from a close range.
Kahraba had the chance to add the second goal two minutes later but his close-range shot was denied by the keeper.
El-Entag striker Moussa Diawara gained a penalty after a foul from Zamalek defender Mahmoud Hamdi inside the area.
Defender Moaz El-Hennawi converted the penalty to level the score.
On the hour-mark Khalid Boutaib had the chance to add the second goal but he failed to control the ball that went to El-Entag keeper.
Seven minutes later Kahraba eased past two challengers in the left flank to send a nice cross to unmarked Ibrahim Hassan but his close-range shot went over the bar.
Zamalek intensified their attacks in the remaining 15 minutes but they failed to score.
El-Entag had the chance to stun Zamalek in stoppage time when Mohamed Mossad received a nice pass that made him clear but his shot went wide.
Hamid Ahddad squandered a golden chance in injury time but his shot from inside the area was collected by the keeper.
