Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Sassi has been ruled out of six weeks after undergoing successful surgery on 17 April 2019.
The Tunisia international limped off during the Egyptian side’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final second leg against Hassania Agadir in Suez.
Zamalek won 1-0 against their Moroccan visitors to progress to the semi-finals.
“The surgery was supervised by National team doctor, Souhail Chemli. The rehabilitation will start in a week at the Tunisian FA’s headquarters using the latest technologies,” Tunisia Football Federation (FTF) said in a statement last Wednesday.
“I thank God. I want to assure everyone in Tunisia and in Egypt that the surgery was a success” Sassi told FTF in a video released Wednesday.
“Ferjani Sassi is expected to be ready for the upcoming preparation camp for the National team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations,” FTF added.
Tunisia are in Group E alongside Angola, Mali and Mauritania will be hoping to have the 27-year old for the continental showdown.
