Four Zambian football Giants will jostle for a spot in the Barclays Cup final with a semifinal double header slated for Nkolma Stadium this Saturday 14 October 2017.
The early kickoff sees the cup defending champions Zesco United battle it out against dark horses NAPSA Stars while League defending champions Zanaco face league aspirants Lusaka Dynamos in the second match.
For Zesco United coach Zlatko Krmpotic, it is a chance to win over fans who have expressed displeasure at what they term as a dismal season so far.
Having been ejected from the CAF Confederations Cup at home by Supersport United, ‘Team ya Ziko’ will look to the Barclays Cup as one silverware they can lay to their hands on.
NAPSA Stars on the other hand are on a roll this season and a win over Zesco United will give them a chance at winning the trophy for the second time.
NAPSA Stars beat Zesco United 1-0 at the semifinal stage in 2012 and went to win it. Can they do it again?
Zanaco meanwhile face the biggest derby headache in the shape of a star studded Lusaka Dynamos.
Numba Mumamba’s bankers are fresh from thumping City of Lusaka 4-1 in a week 29 rescheduled league fixture.
Lusaka Dynamos who have invested heavily in the squad are not prepared to wait for next season to get their hands on silverware as they continue to challenge both in the Barclays Cup and the League.
Expect an action packed weekend in the Barclays as the place to be is Nkolma stadium.
