FT: ZAMBIA 3-0 MOZAMBIQUE.
Zambia put their dream for a second African Nations Championship appearance alive with a 3-0 bashing of Mozambique in the first leg of the final round of the Rwanda 2016 championship.
Goals from Winstone Kalengo, Conlyde Luchanga and Spencer Sautu gave George Lwandamina a significant result going into the second leg away in Maputo.
Zambia rallied from a lacklustre first half to silence the Mambas of Mozambique.
Kalengo headed home in the 77th minute from substitute Luchanga who went on the score sheet three minutes later from a pinpoint Charles Zulu cross.
Spencer Sautu put the result beyond doubt in the 90th minute with a long range shot to give Lwandamina a firm base going into the second round.
Zambia’s last appearance at the CHAN was in 2009 when they won bronze in Ivory Coast.
