Zambia coach Avram Grant Names 27-Member AFCON Crack Squad

Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant has named his final 27-member squad for the Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off on January 13 in Coted’vouire.

The 27-member squad will leave for Saudi Arabia on Monday for an international camp preceding the AFCON and will be domiciled in Jeddah.

Avram Grant and his technical staff have been running the rule on 30 players over four days before selecting the final squad.

Everybody in the squad is excited and waiting for the challenge ahead at the tournament with the technical bench happy with the effort so far.

Whilst in Jeddah Zambia will play Cameroon on January 9 as part of preparations for the tournament with another friendly on the cards with another AFCON bound squad.
At the AFCON the Chipolopolo are in Group F alongside Morocco, Tanzania, and Congo DR.
Zambia’s first match is on January 17 against Congo at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in the coastal city of San Pedro. Four days later the Chipolopolo will take on the Taifa Stars of Tanzania before winding up their group matches on January 24 against the Atlas Lions.
