Zambia Under-20 coach Chisi Mbewe says the team has been working on areas they did not do well in the opening match against Benin to ensure the triumph over The Gambia tomorrow.
And striker Rickson Ng’ambi says the game against The Gambia is a do or die encounter for Zambia.
In a pre-match press conference at Alexandria Stadium today, Mbewe said he expected a tough match against The Gambia, but his boys would be ready.
“Another important game tomorrow against Gambia. Our expectations from the boys are very high. This is an important game to move us to the next stage. We have psyched the boys how important this game is for us,” Mbewe said.
“We just need to maximize the points; we do not need to drop the points. Otherwise so far so good. The response from the boys is good and they are really looking forward to this game.”
And Ng’ambi said the Zambian team will be looking to putting up a good show against The Gambia.
“Everyone is pushing with the support of the coaches. Tomorrow is a do or die game,” said the scorer of the equalizer against Benin on Tuesday.
The Gambia and Zambia go toe to toe with the West Africans toping the group after having beaten Tunisia 1-0 in the opening match.
