Zambia’s coach George Lwandamina has made a bold move to invite Charley Musonda junior to join the National Soccer team in preparation for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo Brazzaville.
This is subject to clearance by FIFA on his eligibility to play for Zambia as the player holds a Belgian passport.
According to a post monitored on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) official Facebook page, Lwandamina says he is fully aware of the allure for Charley to feature for Belgium.
Musonda has already featured for Belgium at Junior level buy he is yet to play for the senior Belgium team.
However the coach is very hopeful that the part of his heritage with both parents being Zambian will sway it for the Chipolopolo team.
The player who is on loan at La Liga side Real Betis from Chelsea has taken the Spanish League by storm and is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in europe.
