Zimbabwean PSL side How Mine Head Coach Kelvin Kaindu, Believes Zambia has the same chances as the other teams in group D and can still qualify for Russia 2018. The Former Highlanders tactician believes the support from the fans and other stake holders will be key.
“Chances are very high like any other team in the group. We are in a tough group but I trust in the coaches we have. These are our own Zambian coaches who we need to give maximum support. The last time Zambia almost qualified was during the time of Gabon air disaster and we had local coaches [Godfrey “Ucar” Chitalu and Alex “Computer” Chola ]. I trust “sir” Wedson ” Wada-Wada” Nyirenda, with everyone’s support he can deliver. We picked up a point away and could have even won.”-Kaindu told soka25east.com in an exclusive interview.
” The way forward for the team is confidence and belief in their abilities to deliver . Being a christian nation trusting and putting all onto the almighty God’s feet can not be over emphasized. This group is still open to any team”.-he further added.
Coach Kaindu believes the Football Association of Zambia made a right call by appointing Wedson Nyirenda as Assistant Coach of the Chipolopolo. Kaindu believes Nyirenda’s experience is an asset to the national team set up.
“First I think faz has done a good thing by appointing him [Wedson Nyirenda] as coach, his done very well on the local scene and in the foreign leagues he has coached in. He has got a lot of experience and he is. One person who wants to win everytime,he takes his job very serious I believe Faz has the right man”
Zambia are third in group D with just a point after two games. Their next match is next year in march against the the desert warriors of Algeria.
