Zambia opens up its road to AFCON 2019 with a date against Mozambique in an encounter that has always been one sided. Zambia has an excellent head to head record against Mozambique and fans are expecting nothing but a Victory in this encounter .
In 20 meetings of games between these sides Mozambique has not beaten Zambia but have drawn three times with 17 loses.
On 22nd June 1997, Mozambique drew 2-2 at home against Zambia in another AFCON qualifier , the other draw which ended 0-0 was in 2014 in AFCON while the third and 1-1 draw was in 2015 and this was a friendly. Those are the only points Mozambique has collected from Zambia and every time the Mambas visit Zambia , they have been at a recieving end with the biggest score line being 4-2 during Cosafa but there are also a number of 3-0 score line.
I don’t think Zambia has any excuse of dropping points in this encounter? They are well placed to pick the maximum and get their group games going on road to AFCON 2019.
