Zambia U17 national team first assistant coach Charles Bwale has said the technical bench is not under pressure to perform at this years COSAFA U17 Championships. Bwale said they will abide by CAF regulations as they are building a team for the future.

” Am not under any form of pressure because these are young boys. These are boys we building for the future . We will abide by CAF regulations and It’s not a Christian like way to celebrate a win you know you cheated to achieve,” Bwale told Soka25east in an exclusive interview.

The Technical bench has not set any targets for themselves but Bwale believes the boys will have a good tournament.

” We have not set any targets . All I can say is that the boys will have a good tournament. If we start setting targets now we will be doing a disservice to ourselves,” said Bwale

Zambia were disqualified in 2016 despite storming through their group, winning all three matches, but were disqualified from the competition when two of their players failed MRI scans that suggested they were older than they claimed.

This time around the technical team is very cautious and are doing everything possible to avoid the same embarrassment.
