During a recent visit to Kachofa Stadium, fazfootball.com observed that the playing surface had overgrown grass and was mostly patchy.
“So far we are working on the ground; we want to make it ready before the season kicks off,” said Team Manager Patrick Mwanza.
“We have replaced the grandstand roof with new iron sheets and we are also building four new public toilets of which one has already been done.”
Mwanza stated that the perimeter wire fence had already been done and that contractors had already been engaged to
work on the playing surface, the
grandstand, the dressing rooms and parking area.
“We have contractors who are working on the dressing rooms, parking areas and the
playing surface.
“For the playing surface, the contractors are saying they have to put black soil but we have ruled that out because of lack of time. Instead they will bring river sand after which they will apply D Compound fertiliser. When the grass is up, they will run a compactor.
“That is what is happening at the moment and we are hopeful that by the time the
league starts we will be more than ready,” said Mwanza.
Blackpool won promotion to the MTN FAZ Super League on 8th November, 2015 when they defeated Chindwin Sentries 5 – 0 to finish second on league standings on goal diffrence from Kalulushi Modern Stars with
