MTN FAZ Super League side Forest Rangers have spent more than K200,000.00 in order to bolster their squad following the departures of several players during the close season.
The new arrivals at Dola Hill include Innocent Mwaba from Zesco United, Felix Nyaende from Nkana, Nawa Nawa and Jairus Mulenga from Nchanga Rangers as well as Crispin Mulenga and Kobe Chipeta from Power Dynamos.
Others expected to join the club before the transfer window closes are Graven Chitalu and John Mwengai, both from Konkola Blades.
Forest Rangers Football Club Treasurer Nick Mwansa told fazfootball.com that all the new players had been signed on two year contracts.
“We paid Power Dynamos K40,000.00 for both Kobe and Crispin who were brought in as replacements for Logic Ching’andu and Laurent Muma,” said Mwansa.
“As for the two players from Nchanga Rangers, Nawa Nawa and Jairus Mulenga,we paid K96,000.00 in total. K33,000 was for Nawa and K63,000.00 for Jairus.
“Zesco United favoured us by giving us Innocent Mwaba for K44,000.00 because we have a good relationship with them. As you know, Innocent is a very good player and he has a market value of more than K80,000.00.
“We were also lucky to get Felix Nyaende for K33,000.00 from Nkana. The purchase price was reasonable because we have been doing business with them,” he said.
Six players have since left Dola Hill to join other clubs. Diego Apanane and Freddy Tshimenga have joined Nkana while Laurent Muma moved to Power Dynamos.Marcel Chewe has joined Red Arrows while Logic Ching’andu and Gift Sakuwaha have moved to Zanaco.
“Logic was with us on loan from Gomes FC;we wanted him to stay but we missed out on signing him and now he has been purchased by Zanaco. But we have brought equally good replacements,” said Mwansa.
Mwansa added that his club was still looking at bringing in a few more players.
“We have not yet concluded discussions with Nkana to bring Masauso Zimba to our club but we are working hard so that he can join us.
“As for Graven Chitalu, he told us that he is a free agent so we have requested him to furnish us with his release letter before we discuss personal terms with him.
“And we have not yet concluded discussions with Konkola Blades for the services of defender John Mwengai,” he said.Forest Rangers finished in 10th position on the league standings for the 2015 season, level on 36 points with Green Eagles who had a better goal difference.
