ONE MORE QUATRE FINAL BEFORE THE SEMI FINALS LINE UP IS DONE
We have the last quatre final in waiting and that will be played on Wednesday, 27th September 2017 at Nkana Stadium at 15:00hrs. That will pit Zesco United , the five times champions of the Barclays Cup, taking on Zone Two Division One league leaders in Kitwe United.

BRIEF HISTORY
Zesco are the record holders of the Barclays Cup after winning the first two editions of 2007 and 2008, they gave it away to Power Dynamis in 2009. They only waited for a year before getting it back in 2010 beating Zanaco 2-0 in that final.
Zesco would then wait until 2014 to grab the fourth beating Nkana 3-0 in the final. The fifth and the last came through last season, again beating Zanaco 1-0.
They will be hoping for the sixth but then they have to negotiate that passage to the semi finals against Kitwe United this Wednesday.
Other Winners
Power Dynamos have won it twice, beating Green Buffaloes 2-1 in 2009 finals and another 2-1 beating of Konkola Blades in 2011. That year Power did get the league as well.
Other teams that have won it once are Napsa Stars, Green Buffaloes and Red Arrows .
Surprisingly , ZANACO has never won the Barclays Cup but have played two finals against Zesco United and lost both , 2-0 in 2010 and 1-0 in 2015.
Zanaco with an easy passage into the semi finals after the withdraw of Power Dynamos from the race will be hoping this could be their year in which they promote a different Bank!!
Simple statistics in the Finals of the Barclays Cup
We have had only two penalty shoot out in the finals and that was in 2007 and 2012. Both games ended with 4-2 penalty shoot out results.
Zesco winning the first one against Chambishi while Napsa Stars winning the second one against Power Dynamos.
The highest scoring final was in 2012 , that game ended 4-4 before penalty shoot outs.
The lowest scoring final was in 2007 and that is the only final that ended without a goal in regulation time. Chambishi held Zesco United 0-0 only to lose 4-2 on penalty shoot outs.
Power Dynamos and Zanaco are the only teams that have lost two finals in the Barclays Cup.
Zesco United have never lost a final of the Barclays Cup.
We have had 27 goals scored in the finals of the Barclays Cup from the year 2007.
