Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala have extended their stay at TP Mazembe by two years each.
The new deals keep the two at the five times African champions till December 31, 2018.
Kalaba joined the Lubumbashi heavyweights in 2010 – winning 12 trophies including, 3 DR Congo Super Cups, 5 League titles, 1 CAF Champions League, 1 CAF Confederations Cup and 2 CAF Super Cups.
“The extension of the maestro’s contract is another testament of the important role he (Kalaba) has played for the Ravens,” the club said in a statement.
The Zambian skipper emerged top scorer in the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup – scoring 8 goals as Mazembe went all the way to lift the gong for the first time.
Kalaba is in contention for the African Player of the Year based in Africa award. The awards gala will take place Thursday, January 5, 2017 Abuja, Nigeria.
He hailed “the best season” he had, while acknowledging his teammates for the support they accorded him, “by winning the trophy that was missing in the team’s cabinet, I feel very proud, but I could not have done it without my teammates who helped me finish as the top scorer in the competition.”
Nathan on the other hand had a relatively low key season with little play-time coming his way, however, the club believes the two “will still help the club to win numerous trophies.”
