Zambia international Emmanuel Mayuka netted his first goal for Zamalek in an English Premier League match at the Petrojet Stadium on Monday.
African giants Zamalek edged out Ittihad Alexandria with Mayuka scoring seven minutes into a game with a powerful shot from inside the box.
The 25-year-old forward had reportedly come under criticism from the Egyptian football media after he failing to score in his previous two games.
The former Southampton star joined Zamalek on three-and-a-half-year deal from French Ligue 2 side FC Metz in January, 2016.
The race for the 2015/16 Egyptian Premier League title is still on, with Al Ahly sitting at the top of the standings – just two points ahead of Zamalek.
Fellow Zambian Patrick Ngoma of Ittihad missed the game due to injury. The Red Arrows striker joined the Egyptian side last year.
