Aubrey Funga scored a hat trick as league leaders Zanaco demolished relegation bound Mufulira Blackpool 6-0 in a week 17 fixture of the FAZ MTN Super Division played at Sunset Stadium on Saturday.
Blackpool who have not won a single match this season were very much aware that a loss would see them sink further into relegation waters.
The Bankers were on a roll as early as the 6th minute when Isaac Chansa nodded in the opener thanks to a beautiful taken cross by Rodrick Kabwe.
Aubrey Funga made it 2-0 on 30 minutes to send Zanaco into a comfortable halftime lead before he struck his second on 56 minutes.
It would only get worse for Blackpool 3 minutes later when Kalala Tshibamba put the ball in his own net to extend Zanaco’s lead to 4-0.
Aubrey Funga completed his hat trick in the 67th minute while Saith Sakala wrapped up the goals in the 69 minute to inflict another miserable day for Blackpool.
The win takes Zanaco to 37 points on the log, 9 points ahead of Zesco United who were not in action today.
Meanwhile Nkana moved into second position on 31 points after their 4-1 win against Forest Rangers at Nkana Stadium while Powerful Power Dynamos humbled Lusaka Tigers 3-1 at Arthur Davis Stadium.
