Zanaco revived their 2019-20 Total CAF Confederation Cup hopes with a 2-1 win over DC Motema Pembe at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts scored a stoppage-time winner to move up to nine points in Group B, a point behind RS Berkane who thumped FC ESAE 5-1 at the same time.
Victory for The Bankers leaves progression into the knockout stages in their own hands with the Zambian’s set to face last season’s runners-up , Berkane, in the final round of group stage fixtures next weekend.
Pembe opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute through Bayindula Nkongo, and the visitors looked on course for all three points before two late goals from the hosts.
Kevin Owusu Amoh pulled the two clubs level in the 83rd minute and victory was duly secured for Zanaco in the third minute of added time as Moussa Souleymanou found the back of the net.
