Zanaco seeking to turn the tables against Mbabane in Swazilan
Zanaco must come back from a 2-1 slump against the Swaziland side Mbabane Swallows away in the 2nd leg of their African Champions league first round on Saturday, and history provides plenty of examples of teams that have turned the tables to claim the slot in the second game.
It is also a norm down the years for the side who play the second leg at home to progress especially with an away victory‚ no matter what the first leg score was, as only four times in the previous 14 years has the team that win away with such margins have failed to progress
Chavda Maisha scored the first for Zanaco in the first leg but Badenhorst got the equalizer just after the counter-patches in the first leg. Mccreesh scored what could prove to be a vital away goal for Swallows in Lusaka, in the first leg as Numba Mumamba’s side also spurned a number of chances to claim the advantage in the game going into the second leg at the Somhlolo National Stadium on Saturday.
Numba Mumamba is calm and never under pressure and if he keeps that calm he may just pass-on that mentality to his players who need that attribute to turn this encounter in their favour.
An early goal in this game would do for Numba and the boys, yes it would suit Numba and his men just fine.
Mbabane Swallows albeit will be a different team that sat back in the first half of the second leg before coming to terms that they had the pedigree to be of equal weights with the 2016 Zambian champions.
It’s a different encounter and we expect disparity in regards to the ball game and that thought could be advantageous to the Zambian outfit.
Numba is spoiled with talent in his roster and a good selection on the day is capable of getting a very good result for Zanaco.
My Prediction: Mbabane Swallows 2-3 Zanaco.
