Immediate former Gor Mahia coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira “Ze Maria” has been unveiled at Albanian side KF Tirana two days after ditching the Kenyan Premier League giants.
“Jose Marcelo Ferreira is officially the new coach of KF Tirana,” the club confirmed on their website.
He is expected to start his job immediately after familiarizing himself with the players and staff.
In his resignation letter addressed to the club’s president Mr. Ambrose Rachier, Ze Maria did not expressly give reasons for his sudden decision to leave the 15-time Kenyan champions.
However, close sources intimated to this site that the ex Inter Milan full back grew “frustrated” over an array of issues including “un-kept promises” and unfavorable players’ welfare.
He leaves a fair legacy at K’Ogalo. In his first season, he managed a second place finish in the KPL, and has since bagged two trophies in the new season.
The team is currently perched at the top of the league as the second leg kicks-off this weekend.
