Zesco United suffer a title set back after they were held to a 1 all draw by Green Buffaloes in Ndola.
Team ya Ziko were in control of proceedings for the most parts of the game which they needed to win to keep up with their title rivals Zanaco.
Brian Mwila’s equaliser in the 88th minute dashed Zesco’s hopes of catching up with Zanaco who now enjoy an 8 point lead.
Zesco seemed to be on the way to register another routine win when Jackson Mwansa put the defending Champions ahead in the 21st minute but it was not to be for George Lwandamina.
Coach Bilton Musonda was determined to get one over his former boss when the two were together at Buffaloes.
His side was unlucky to see a goal controversially ruled for offside just after half time but the Buffaloes kept plugging away.
Zega Mambo were dealt a blow when Kenyan international Anthony Akumu Agay was sent off in the 77th minute.
Eventually Brian Mwila’s late goal sealed a vital point for GBFC.
As for Zesco, they still have 2 more games to cut Zanaco’s lead to at least 2 points.
