FAZ MTN SUPER LEAGUE WEEK 26 FOCUS
The FAZ Super League enters week 26 this coming weekend with the League leaders and defending champions ZESCO in search of One of the two victories before they defend the title they won last season. Zesco will also be looking to break the record of higest points in the Zambian super league currently held by Zanaco (71) during the 2006 season.
Should Zesco win the last remaining five matches then their maximum will be 74 , three better than the record holders Zanaco. But they have to start negotiating that with an away trip away in the Southern Province at one oF the most difficulties places to go and get points in the league. Zesco has visited Green Eagles four times and have only managed one away win. They have lost twice and drawn once in Choma. That is testament enough that this won’t be an easy fixture for the almost champions elect in the 2015 season. ZESCO is yet to be defeated this season on the road as their only two defeats have been at their own home at the hands of Forest Rangers and Nkwazi FC. There will be desperately looking to keep that record intact against Green Eagles who have just managed to win two of their last six games allowing 8 goals and only forced
Can Zesco get their second win away at the stubborn Eagles Nest? We are yet to see that.
Second spot will also be crucial this weekend with the two chasing teams of Power Dynamos and Zanaco playing at their respective home grounds but perhaps more favouring Power Dynamos who will be entertaining National Assembly which turns to be the weakest team of the 2015 season having allowed 39 goals and only scored 18 with 5 wins and 3 draws. As things stand not even FAZ restructuring of the league can save National Assembly from going down to division One as it Is looking most likely that only two teams will be relegated and four teams promoted to have an 18 team Super league. That Will be confirmed after the 10th October FAZ AGM meeting. Zanaco will be at home to struggling but difficult to beat Konkola Blades , a team which most of the soccer analysts in the country are wondering why Blades is struggling with the good material they have in their squad .
In the relegation battle Nakambala will be hoping to get the better of Nchanga Rangers in Nakambala knowing so well that the bottom two spots are the places not to be at the end of the season which Nakambala Leopards occupies.
Nakambala has only beaten Nchanga Rangers once in 11 meetings and that is as back as 18th June 2011 and they should come out good to beat a Nchanga Rangers that is also fighting to avoid the drop zone positions.
