Zesco United has progressed to the quarter finals of the 2017 CAF confederation cup with a 3 nil scoreline according to a letter from CAF dated 8th July. This comes after the banning of the Sudanese football Association SFA by the world football Governing body FIFA.
Zesco has been awarded a three points a three goals in accordance with the confederation cup relagulations Chapter XI (ten) : Withdraw and renunciation from playing para 14 and 18 which stipulates;
” If a team withdraws after participating in all the matches in the first half of the group matches, the remaining matches to be played in the said group are lost by a penalty three goals to nil”

The decision means Zesco United will win group C with 10 points and will face South African club Supersport United while the either Smouha and Recreativo who play later today will face TP Mazembe.
