AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM ZESCO UNITED – TENANT CHEMBO
Is Zesco United a house in disarray in terms of the technical setup?
The simple summation to that points to a candid response that the man who guided Zesco United to the league title on an interim basis Tenant Chemo gave. These were his words.
“I was told to win us the league title and then discussions of what comes would be discussed later, ” Chembo said during a Soccer Africa Show in South Africa last Thursday.
As things stand Zesco United is at crossroads for the position of substantive coach. Of course in principle, the Zlat is the coach but there is no hope that he will get back his position and Chembo is still the assistant.
Then come the revoking appointments of the three staff that are with the team in South Africa before a crucial CAF Champions League game away.
Am wondering why that couldn’t wait for a couple of days and do it when the team is in the country to avoid disturbing the mood in camp. You will also discover that a live video of the former General Secretary is deleted on the facebook page of Zesco United.
That alone might have an impact on the team preparations.
Change is inevitable yes, but the way this restructuring is happening has more questions than answers and one wonders what is next?
I have always said during Zlat tenure that this team was divided with players for Zlat and others for Tenant. And we saw the results of that situation.
We know that the players are professionals will surely have an impact which may affect the team.
I love the solidarity Zesco fans are trying to use here. Putting a strong face pretending things are playing out well when among themselves are wondering what is going on.
Should the results follow a negative path, these fans will speak out and put Zesco Limited on the spotlight.
Before I go….. Now that we know TC is not officially the coach, who then will be the head coach?
I will conclude that this is not the Zesco United team I have known to be on point with the way they handle issues. I maybe be wrong but I will be in the passenger seat to see how this pans out.
