Its an encounter of Championship versus relegation contenders. Therefore both teams have everything to play for this game. But it Zega Zega who have the more added pressure. The path to the zones for City Ya Moto seemingly is written all over the show.
Its teams so wounded like this that can cause anguish and pain in football as they tend play freespirited football.
These two first met in the super league in the 2007 seven and ZESCO United were too strong winning both games home and away via 2-0 score lines.
City of Lusaka had just got into the Super league after coming second in Division One South behind Young Arrows.
In 2008 City of Lusaka got one better of Zesco United, beating them 1-0 with alone goal coming from Derick Mulenga. The return leg ended in a nil all affair.
Zesco United went on to win the league and City of Lusaka finished eighth in the 2008 season.
In 2009, Zesco beat City of Lusaka 2-1 in Ndola but drew nil all in Lusaka . This was a very good City of Lusaka that finished fourth that season and Zesco finished second on goal difference.
But that beautiful journey in 2009 that many thought could actually see Ya Moto fight for the Chamipionship the following year. Did not go well City of Lusaka got relegated in 2010 though they beat Zesco 1-0 courtesy of the Fabrice Mbimba goal and the second game was cancelled due to FAZ troubles.
That was the last of we saw of City of Lusaka in the super league.
They are back again but already looks like they are about to make a quick return to the unfancied lower leagues.
A Jackson Jesse Were goal early this season was all needed to guarantee 3 points for Zega Zega and may just finally do a double to enhance their chances of winning the 2017 super league title.
A win for Zesco will take them within a point of league leaders Zanaco with a game in hand against Kabwe Warriors slated for Wednesday.
Zesco maybe topping the table by the time all clubs get back on the field.
The unlikely loss of Zesco in this encounter could signal a disastrous season for the Ndola outfit who have already failed to defend the Barclays Cup and they are out from continental competitions
.
City of Lusaka have nothing to lose and they know they are going down and that freedom to play their game maybe tricky for Zesco United.
But I think they are focused and strong and they will take this encounter seriously. They need the points and they know what the points mean.
If Zesco win all their remaining games and the title is theirs, They will start counting today.
On the technical bench, Zlat I feel will continue missing and TC will again step up. He has to push his boys for a victory before he starts blaming the match officials.
Prediction: Zesco United 3-0 City of Lusaka
