Former English Premier league star and Zimbabwe warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari is eying the top post of the country’s Football Association.
He took a big step in his bid to enter local football administration when he picked up his papers yesterday 3rd November for the upcoming ZIFA elections.
He is understood to have picked both the presidential and vice presidential post papers.He is however restricted by age as the top post gives a minimum of 40 years which he hasn’t attained.
The deadline for interested candidates is thursday 5th November a month after the elections date.
His interest has been warmly been received by fans who believe his involvement in the game would ultimately lead to improvement.
He has received the backing of current players like Archford Gutu and Bradley Pritchard who have gone public in their support.
Others who have picked papers include Paddington Japajapa,Lincoln Mutasa,Shariff Mussa and Edzai Kasinauyo
