With the Zimbabwe National team resuming training at the High performance centre in Harare,Head Coach Calisto Pasuwa is a disappointed man.He is dissaponted with the injury of Captain Danny ‘ Deco’ Phiri.
The Coach is however optimistic that the defender will recover as he finalizes with his final squad for the CHAN tournament scheduled for Rwanda next month.
Phiri who has been in specular form aided his team Chickenn Inn for the PSL titile in the just ended season.
The Warriors captain who was named the the Zimbabwean Soccer star of the year is reported to having nagging ankle injury and Coach Calisto Pasuwa is worried with his injury together with the fitness level of his squad with the goalkeeper Takabva Mawaya also injured and Highlanders teenager Hadebe out on family matters.
Phiri had a scan and is awaiting the Doctors final assesment.
The tournament begins on 16th January and Zimbabwe are in Group D together with neighbours Zambia,Mali and East African giants Uganda.They will be based in the border town of Gisenyi.
Pasuwa had named his squad from where he will select his final squad.
