Zimbabwe Warriors endure 600km road trip to Malawi for Afcon clash

By Austin Oduor Otieno,

The Zimbabwe National teams problems continued with the ZFA stating that they will have to travel by bus to Malawi to honour their AFCON 2017 qualifier match scheduled for tomorrow 13th June 2015 in Blantyre.

Speaking after meeting the technical bench after stand off over players refusal to travel.ZIFA  CEO Mashingadze said ” By hook or crook we are going to travel to Malawi but this means we will  now have to travel by road” we are getting into a meeting now to discuss plan B with the bench and President(Cuthbert )

” The players are now leaving by roaf early tomorrow(today morning) and they will be accomodated at Daisy Lodge for the night” he continued

Zimbabwe could use an alternative route via South Africa but that is hoghly unlikely.

The players are demanding a down payment of $500 each in appearance fee and another $30-$60 daily for training

The confusion and delay in departure coupled with the long travel hours of close to 600 kms is the biggest disaster facing coach Kalisto Pasuwa as his charges would be tired.

Warriors will play The flames on saturday afternoon at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre .
