Zimbabwe Warriors winger Khama Billiat could be out of the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Congo after he reportedly picked an injury over the weekend.

Zimbabwe will face their Group G opponents on September 9 in Brazzaville.

According to NewsDay, Billiat who featured for the whole ninety minutes in Kaizer Chiefs’ game against SuperSport is believed to had aggravated his hamstring injury.

Warriors manager Wellington Mupandare confirmed to the newspaper that the star was likely to be out for some time.

“It’s a huge blow for the team. I have been communicating with his team and him (Khama) as well, and I’m told he has a hamstring problem,” Mupandare said.

“He played on Saturday, but he had to pass a late fitness test, but after the game, the hamstring was tight. He is out of the match and it’s very unfortunate. We have invited him to come for our own assessment, but from the information I gathered, it’s not looking pleasing.”

Marvelous Nakamba, Ovidy Kararu, Costa Nhamoinesu and Nyasha Mushekwi were also dropped out of the squad due to injuries.
