A court in Harare has put CAPS United goalkeeper Joram Muchambo behind bars for stealing two mobile phones and different accessories from his ex-girlfriend, Talent Matsengarwodzi.
Muchambo 33, appeared before magistrate Rumbidzai Dzumbira on Friday facing charges of theft which he committed on different dates between the month of June and July last year as reported by Daily News.
Superintendent of Police Progress Maringamoyo who presented the case in the court said that Muchambo went to state witness house where he reportedly stole the mobile phones, a bottle of lotion, reading glasses and two t-shirts.
Before the magistrate, Matsengarwodzi told the court that she discovered the offence when Muchambo sent her a screenshot from one of the cell phones.
“When we broke up, he sent me a screenshot accusing me of dumping him after I was made a brand ambassador for Caps United FC.
“That is how I knew he stole my phone because i know how I had saved my screen shots.”
The footballer was remanded by the presiding judge despite pleading not guilty for the charges and will reappear on February 15
