Zesco United put in an uninspiring performance as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Kabwe Warriors in a week 11 fixture of the MTN FAZ Super League played at Railway Stadium.Warriors looking for their first win came out of the blocks looking to catch out Zesco United early.
Jacob Phiri and Lameck Kafwaya had chances to put Warriors ahead in the first 20 minutes but both wasted their opportunities, shooting wide of Jacob Banda’s goal.
The visitors had their chances aswell. Lazarus Kambole shooting from range only for Lawrence Mulenga to deny him with a brilliant finger tip save.
Marcel Kalonda and Idris Mbombo facing their former team had decent games.
Jackson Mwanza rarely threaten as the Warriors defense held firm.
The best chance of the second half fell to Warriors in the 68th minute.
Nicholas Mulilo broke in behind the Zesco United defense under pressure by Ben Adama Bahn and on his weaker foot tried to beat Banda but the Zesco shot stopper was equal to the task.
Even with the introduction of John Chingandu and Dave Daka, Zesco United looked blunt and disjointed in attack.
Clement thought he had won it for Warriors but his header went agonizingly wide of the post.
The match ended in a stalemate, a true reflection on the game.
