Free State Stars have signed former Kaizer Chiefs winger William Thwala after a trial period at the club concluded successfully.

It had been reported previously that the  winger was on the verge of joining Stars,and now it has been made clear his immediate future will rest in the colours of Bethlehem based side.

Thwala joins the Nedbank cup winner on a free transfer after Kaizer Chiefs decided against renewing his contract .

Having struggled for regular game time at Amakhosi during his time there,the winger was loaned from the Naturena outfits to Maritzburg United in January for the second half of the 2017/18 season.

The winger who has played for both Chiefs and Orlando Pirates has reportedly penned a one year deal with the club and could be set to face Bidvest Wits in the opening game of the Absa Premiership season at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday at Bidvest Stadium kickoff 18:00.

The 27 year old winger joined Amakhosi two years ago from Chippa United,but has failed to live up to expectations having made just 19 starts since his arrival  at Naturena.
