Following the coronavirus pandemic, President Nana Addo has intimated that sporting activities in the country should be suspended for the next four weeks.
He [Nana Addo] made the declaration at the Flagstaff House in Accra on Sunday night, March 15, 2020 as a measure to control the spread of the virus.
The COVID-19 cases have risen to six (6) after the Ministry of Health announced four(4) new cases earlier today at the conference room of the Ministry of Information.
This means Ghana Premier League, Women’s Premier League, Division One League and the MTN FA Cup will be brought to a standstill.
Also, the Ghana Athletics Association Circuit Championship and the upcoming schools activities have been halted.
Some top football leagues in the world such as the English Premier League, German Bundesligue, French Ligue Un and La Liga Santander have also been suspended.
