⚽ A striker that one woukd not forget due to his down to earth personality ⚽
I am talking about Jimmy Ndhlovu who sat out due to an injury and has seen the whole season go by envying to come back.Bwezani caught up with Jimmy after the Power Dynamos nil-nil draw against Lumwana Radiants.
BWEZANI WITH ZED FOOTBALL (BWZF): Jimmy it is good to see you back on the pitch.
JIMMY: Thanks my man, it’s good to be back.
BWZF: Before anything just share your brief background about your football career. How many teams have you played for?
JIMMY: It’s been a long journey and I have played for alot of teams, let me try to break them down for you;
I Started my career way back in Chipata were I was playing for provincial teams. I moved to mongu because of school and immediately after completing My Grade 12,I came back to lusaka searching for a club to join.
That’s how i joined edusport late in 2005. It was with Edusport that I took part in many tournaments untill 2008 when I joined Red Arrows.
I later left Red Arrows for Bnei Sakhnin in Israel on a year long contract in 2010 then came back due to contractual issues and unfortunately I got injured and stayed out in 2011.
I rejoined Red Arrows in 2012 were I remained only for 6 months and in June that year went to ZESCO til 2013 June when I joined Nkana.
I won my first league title with Nkana in 2013 before joining Power Dynamos in 2014. You are aware that Nkana recalled me in 2015 June but I came back to Power Dynamos this year (2016) in January. So BWEZANI that’s my journey.
BWZF: Thats an interesting story of your football life Jimmy and now that you are back at Power Dynamos, How does that feel?
JIMMY: Its a great feeling to be back at Power Dynamos and believe me I Wouldnt have asked for more..being at Athur Davies Stadium feels like home for Me.
BWZF: You have been out for the entire season and you saw your team in both the bad and good form. How was it to watch the team and knowing you have the capability of helping but could not ?
JIMMY: I think Sometimes bad things happen for a good reason and one has to look ahead and thank God.
Of course the thought that would cross my mind is that I could have helped or not. The bigger picture is that I missed the season but Am Just glad to be back
BWZF: How would you describe the 2016 season in the Zambian Super League?
JIMMY: The first half of the season we lost a number of games. Then we tried to catch up in the second half but towards the end again we have faultered
BWZF: You came back and has scored already and with the season coming to a close….What next for Jimmy and Power Dynamos?
BWZF: My goal this year was just to come back and be part of the team. Scoring was a bonus for me and just like any player Staying healthy, training hard and playing well, wil be my primary objective goals will just follow
BWZF: Let’s get personal ……who is your best friend in the Power Dynamos team?
JIMMY: I don’t usually have best friend but my closest is Martin Phiri.
BWZF: Which team in the Zambian Super League has impressed you this season and what’s the reason?
JIMMY: it’s definatley Zanaco..they play good attacking football and scored alot of goals, rarely concede. We all know that the best defences win leagues.
BWZF: What about the worst team?
JIMMY: Worst team is definately blackpool. Not winning a single game in the super league journey is the worst record ever if am not mistaken.
BWZF: Your message to Power Dynamos fans and your fans generally especially after your long lay off?
JIMMY: I am just thanking Jehovah for this talent..the PDFC executive, my team mates, family and friends for the support during this trying moment. The road of life is so rocky, everyone goes through such rough patches. It’s how strong u come out of them that matters and always looking to the future. Thanx
BWZF: Last remarks
JIMMY: Mr. BWEZANI MBEWE Thanks for the opportunity
