Next year’s Zambia’s representative in the CAF confederations cup will have to be a domestic cup winner and not the league’s runners up as it has been the norm.
Speaking exclusively to soka25east,FAZ president Andrew Kamanga said that they are working on bringing two more cup knockouts so that they introduce a champions cup where the ultimate winner will represent the country in the club competitions
“we will discuss the matter in the exco. By the way we are working on bringing two more cup so we may have a situation where we could introduce a champion of champions for the cup and those may be the right representatives in CAF
This year Zanaco won the right to represent Zambia in the confederations cup by virtue of finishing second in the league behind defending champions Zesco
The Zambian football supremo further said that this years Backlays cup will have ten teams as opposed to eight last season. The ten teams will comprise six from the top tier and four from the second tier.
