The football Association of Zambia has with immediate effect dissolved the Northern Province Football Association Committee (NOPAFA).

In a letter dated 21 march 2017, the Country’s governing body passed a verdict–to dissolve the NOPAFA Committee over what they term as violation of the FAZ Constitution.

According to the latter, on 21st December 2016, FAZ had directed NOPAFA to submit the minutes of their last AGM and that of their last elective AGM, including the last report from the Chairman, General Secretary and the Treasurer. The due date which was set for submission is 15th January 2017.

Furthermore, NOPAFA Committee were requested to state as to when their tenure was coming to an end, and when the next elections was to be held.

However, there is nonexistent of the information of the any of the things requested, hence the decision to dissolve the Northern Province Football Association.

“Accordingly your Committee stands dissolved on the account of lapse of time. FAZ will in the meantime arrange for an Interim Committee to oversee the activities of your association until another Committee is duly elected”, a statement said.
